How To Look Like An Off-Duty Model

Oh… to be a model! The shows, the clothes, the endless cocktail parties…  If only we could be genetically blessed with the 6ft frame of Martha Hunt, or the body of Kate Upton.

Nonetheless, one easy aspect of the model life to take on is the effortless, off-duty, street style. How many times have you opened a magazine and saw Kendall Jenner looking so chic when she does her groceries, or Candice Swanepoel winning in the style stakes after a long haul flight?

It’s waaaay easier than you think! Today, we give you the masterclass on how to look like an off-duty model.

Flawless ‘No Makeup’ Makeup

Ok, this one may sound like some sort of crazy contradiction, but carefully placed and natural looking makeup can really give you that flawless off-duty model look.

Fake air-brushed skin by applying a medium coverage foundation with a dewy finish. Pat gently onto cleansed skin with your fingertips for a flawless texture. Next, take a cream blush and apply to the apples of the cheeks for a natural flush. Opt for a dewy highlighter and apply on the top of the cheekbones and on the eyelids. Finally, curl your lashes and apply two coats of lengthening mascara to both the bottom and top lashes.

Rock A Leather Bomber

It seems that models have a type of ‘unofficial’ off-duty uniform. Enter the leather bomber and slim-fit pants combo, an effortless look that is casual and polished in equal part.

Kendall gives her studded leather jacket a more polished vibe with leather pants, boots and dark sunglasses. She injects an air of off-duty by adding the white cropped tee. The best part about this look is that it uses wardrobe staples that many of us already own!

This is the definition of ‘slaying’. One of our fave stylistas, Gigi Hadid, goes for a studded overload with this studded leather jacket and belt. However, it is that classic Chanel boy bag that will be starring in our dreams tonight.

Throw On A Scarf

Scarves are the accessory that you need to rock off-duty model style! They have been spotted thrown effortlessly over jackets and tees and have even been spotted backstage keeping models snug during the hair and makeup process. Just choose your favorite pattern, throw on and embrace the nonchalance!

Style Your Locks In Tousled Waves

The best part about off-duty model hair is that it requires literally no effort! If you have naturally wavy locks, give them a spritz with dry shampoo for some volume. Plait straight hair and leave overnight for natural-looking and heat-free waves. For a really beachy vibe, spritz your strands with some sea salt spray.
